Real Player doesn’t have a lot of competition but it’s main one, Windows Media Player, is a tough one. Since Windows and Windows Media Player come automatically on many people’s computers, they continue to use it or don’t even realize that they have other options.

Jet Audio is another option that some people have tried instead of Real Player. While it has some great features, Real Player is more dependable and has the added features of the online music store where you can download songs instantly.

 

Yahoo’s Music Match is another big competitor of Real Player and it offers features such as song downloads for a small monthly fee, community features and music sharing.

 

One reason why people seek alternatives was due to the advertisements that came with Real Player but the company has taken steps now to remove and reduce the advertisements that come with Real Player so many people are switching back.
