Real Player Review

Real Player is a media player for computers, created by Real Networks. It plays, tags, rips and burns files and even interacts with an online music store so you can purchase new songs whenever you want. You can play music or video files from your computer using the Real Player.

The new 10.5 version of Real Player has many great upgrades and improvements that previous versions didn’t have. New Harmony Technology fixes many coding and compatibility issues that they have before. Real Player is now able to handle almost any code type you use with it which allows you to play almost any video or audio file using Real Player.

The Good

  • Music Store downloads supported by most MP3 players
  • 99 cent music downloads
  • Unique song information
  • Nice features
  • Ability to pause and record live music streams
  • Support for many audio and video file types

The Bad

Sometimes Real Player is slow or sluggish. It is not compatible with Mac and sometimes there are annoying advertisements.

Overall

Overall, the good outweighs the bad when it comes to the RealPlayer (unless you are a Mac user). One of the best new features is its ability to use the embedded Music Store which is compatible with all MP3 players, even the iPod.
